Breakfast in the Evening? <head explodes>

Breakfast in the PM is usually reserved for times when I’m just too lazy to cook anything else, and it can seem like a bit of a compromise. A bit boring and uneventful.  This Friday, May 11 The Black Squirrel is looking the change that with a special event featuring two highly regarded stouts.

Starting at 5 p.m. The Black Squirrel will tap Bourbon-Barrel-Aged Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout and Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout.

The bourbon-barrel-aged Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout, a big and dark and scary beverage brewed with plenty of dark malts and roast barley from 2011, is the only keg in the city.

The limited-release Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout is brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolates, plus cave-aged in oak bourbon barrels for an entire year to make sure wonderful bourbon undertones come through in the finish.

Chef Gene Sohn is preparing  a breakfast platter with the two beers, which includes two eggs, bacon, homemade sausage, French toast, home fries and cappuccino stout sauce.

Sounds pretty tasty to me, and definitely not a cop out. Breakfast for dinner and craft beer? A new winning combination!
