So You Like Exclusive Beers from North Carolina?

It’s a little known fact, but America Eats Tavern has a small but mighty beer menu. Among other tasties I’ve had there have been beers from Half Acre and also Fullsteam.

This latter brewery, from Durham, North Carolina, has a very interesting portfolio. As part of SAVOR Week, you’ll be able to go to America Eats and sample their beers as part of a tap takeover.

For now, you’ll have to settle (even though it’s not settling at all) for Beasley’s Honey White. According to America Eats manager Nick Dowling, this beer is served only at the Fullsteam Taproom and Beasley’s Chicken in Raleigh. The beer has all North Carolina oats, honey, and Telicherry pepper. Dowling notes that the beer pairs perfectly with America Eats’ fried chicken.

So if you’re down by Penn Quarter, stop by, have some oysters, and check out this beer that you can’t get anywhere else in the District. If it’s anything like the rest of AET’s beer list, you won’t be disappointed.
