We are headed back to DC after an inspiring week at the 2012 Craft Brewers Conference in San Diego. Last night was the annual World Beer Cup Beer Dinner and Awards Ceremony, and we are proud to report that Maryland and Virginia Breweries fared quite well. In fact, four of the awards were given to breweries within the Metro DC area.

Virginia took home 5 medals: Devils Backbone, Great American Restaurants (Sweetwater), Hardywood Park, Rock Bottom Arlington and Blue Mountain.
Devils Backbone – Gold Medal, Vienna-Style Lager Category, Vienna Lager
Great American Restaurants – Silver Medal, Extra Special Bitter Category, GAR Pale Ale
Hardywood Park – Bronze Medal, Herb and Spice Beer Category, Gingerbread something Stout
Rock Bottom Arlington – Bronze Medal, Coffee Beer Category, Coffee Stout
Blue Mountain – Bronze Medal, American-Belgo-Style Ale Category, Blue Reserve
Maryland took home 3 medals: DuClaw, Flying Dog and Heavy Seas.
