For DC residents, Mad Fox Brewery can be an elusive target. So much good beer, but so hard to get to thanks to the psychological barrier of crossing the Potomac River, hellish Virginia traffic, and/or taking at least one train (Orange line to West Falls Church) to a bus (3A or 3B) that runs several times an hour. Well, now’s your chance. On Wednesday, April 25, Mad Fox will be in DC, at The Big Hunt, for an evening that doubles as the going away party for Beer Director Dave Coleman, who over the past decade has transformed that bar from a dive with a nice jukebox to a dive with a nice jukebox and good beer. Wednesday will be Coleman’s last full shift at The Big Hunt before devoting his full-time efforts to 3 Stars Brewing in Takoma Park. It’s sure to be a good time with good tunes and good beer. Get a taste of Coleman’s legendary hospitality by asking him to make you a mojito on his way out the door.
The beer list:
Diabolik – Belgian Strong Ale
Keller Kolsch – Unfiltered Kolsch-style ale
Reynard – Dark Saison
APA – American Pale Ale
There may be others. Note that Mad Fox itself is tapping Orange Whip, an American IPA hopped exclusively with Citra, today, Tuesday the 24. Perhaps some of this, pretty please, will make its way to the Hunt as well. In addition, the Hunt will feature 20+ other delicious beers on tap. Check their twitter for details.
