Did you know that Norway actually has three official languages? No? Well, then you certainly knew that parts of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back were filmed there? Not even that? Seriously? Well, allow me to give you another fact about glorious Norway – one that I’m sure you’ll want to remember.
Kjetil Jikiun. Nøgne Ø.
Still confused? Let me lay it down for you. On April 25th at 7PM, Birch and Barley will be hosting a Norwegian-inspired beer dinner during which esteemed Beer Director Greg Engert will pair five of Chef Kyle Bailey’s delicious dishes with nine beers from one of the hottest (ha!) breweries in Northern Europe – Nøgne Ø. Starting to make sense now?
The specific brews that will make an appearance have not yet been released; however, some other tittilating information has. Nøgne Ø founder Kjetil Jikiun has made the journey all the way from Grimstad, Norway to our fair District and will be in attendance for the event. Don’t miss this chance to savor some of the most interesting beers around and meet the man responsible.
Tickets are $73 per person, not including tax and tip. Call 202-567-2576 for reservations and make your move fast – this dinner is filling up fast.
Skål! (I hope that’s right).
