As the recent spell of unseasonably beautiful weather continues on, Scion and DCBeer have turned their minds, and tastebuds, toward saisons. Saisons, the farmhouse beers that originated in Wallonia, are perfect for this weather because they’re delicate, crisp, and extremely refreshing. With all of this in mind, on April 15 at 5pm, we’ll be teaming up to put on ‘Tis the Season for Saisons, an Educational Tasting.
We’ve assembled some classic saisons as well as some newer American takes on the style to show attendees just how varied these beers can be. Scion’s intimate setting will be the perfect spot to sip on some saisons and also eat some delicious charcuterie. Between tastings of five different saisons, we’ll chat a bit about this style’s characteristics and history. Members of the DCBeer team will also be on-hand to talk about whatever other aspects of craft beer you’re interested in.
Tickets are $30 for a single ticket, $50 for two tickets, or $90 for four tickets. Each ticket includes 6oz. tastings of five different saisons as well as a charcuterie and cheese. The full Scion menu will also be available if you want to get something off of their menu to pair with the saisons. Tickets for this event are no longer available.
