The Del Ray neighborhood staple Evening Star Cafe has reopened, and damn does it look good. Neighbor Restaurant Group shut down the restaurant just last month for a complete renovation which included updates to all of the décor, the tap lines, and the menu.

To complement the new southern-inspired American menu at Evening Star, Greg Engert has designed a program to showcase the best of American craft brewing with 20 drafts, including one cask ale, and 30 craft bottles. The carefully chosen a list represents classic craft favorites such as Bell’s Two Hearted Ale and Arrogant Bastard; the talent of local brewers like Port City, Lost Rhino and Stillwater; as well as some rare craft gems, including Ballast Point Brewing Company’s Sculpin and Terrapin Brewing’s Oak Aged Big Hoppy Monster, that are making their debut to the area. Both the draft and bottle list will always be a constant blend of classic and what’s cool and new in the American craft beer scene. As you can see in the list below, Evening Star will also utilize Greg’s flavor profiles that have become synonymous with the ChurchKey experience. This ensures there is the perfect beer for every palate and every plate.
