Celebrate session beer with Meridian Pint’s Session Beer Birthday Bash!

Meridian Pint’s Sam Fitz and Tim Prendergast DC’s first two Certified Cicerones are celebrating their birthdays this week at the Pint. (In case you missed it, they were also just featured by Tammy Tuck of the Lagerheads).

So when you’re two beer gurus working at the same craft beer bar, how do you celebrate? With a Session Beer Birthday Bash!

All 24 of the Pint’s draft lines, and one cask, will be devoted to beer that is 5% or under. 11 of the 24 beers being poured are from breweries within 40 miles of DC. Also, there’ll be a pig roast on the patio featuring a Tamworth Pig from the Bella Terra Family farm in Montgomery County. Considering most food items travel over 1,500 miles from farm to table the Pint is offering some serious food for thought.

Want special beers, in addition to local ones? Boy, are you in luck!

DC Brau will debut the only keg of an American Dark Mild debuted on their pilot system, and the latest Meridian Pint/Oliver Ales collaboration, MP4, a 4.5% boundary straddling English-American Pale Ale. Anyone with facial hair, real or fake, gets a free 4oz taster of the cask!

Additionally, there will be beer from two brewpubs whose beer doesn’t make it to DC: Mike Roy, brewer at Franklin’s Brewery in Hyattsville, will have Stonehenge English Dark Mild on-hand, and Bill Madden’s Mad Fox Brewpub will also be bringing their filtered version of the GABF medal-winning Kolsch.
