Ah, Baltimore. A sweet, easy 40 minutes north of DC. Easily accessible via MARC train. Home to great breweries like The Brewer’s Art, Oliver Ales at the Pratt Street Alehouse, and Heavy Seas. Oh, also? Host to a pretty excellent little something you may have heard of called Baltimore Beer Week. Baltimore Beer Week starts tomorrow, October 6 and runs to October 16.
Let’s get this out there. BBW 2011 boasts a whopping, almost unthinkable, 327 events. That’s about three times the size of this past year’s DC Beer Week. They’ve got a handy search feature on this page if you click the bar that says “Advanced Search”.
The crown jewel of this week is the Chesapeake Real Ale Festival on October 15 at the Pratt Street Alehouse. The $40 is definitely worth it for the selection of casks that will be there.
Anywaaaay, we wanted to show our friends in Baltimore a little love. You’ve got 11 days to celebrate beer in the Land of Pleasant Living; definitely worth a day trip for what is an awesome selection of beers and events!
