Where to Get Some Tasty Beers at H Street Fest This Saturday

This Saturday, September 17 from 12-7pm is the annual H Street Festival.

H Street Fest features live music, street performances, and vendors of all kinds, including some serving food of all flavors.

Luckily, H Street Fest will also feature some great craft beer that you can enjoy while you taking in the sights and sounds of H Street NE. Here’s what we know of so far:

Smith Commons (1245 H Street NE) has a ton going on. From 12-7pm, enjoy $5 pints of Brewery Ommegang (Witte and Belgian Pale Ale) and Flying Dog (Doggie Style Pale Ale and Dogtoberfest Marzen) at Smith Commons’ outdoor beer garden. There will also be a special food menu available both in the beer garden and inside Smith Commons. Here’s the food menu:
Entrees
Kobe Hot Dog, Foie Gras, Bacon, Confit Onions
Pork Belly Yakatori, Apple Glaze
Confit Chicken Egg Rolls, Jicama/Apple slaw
Carrot Rissotto, Carrot Jus
Braised Short Rib, Mirepoix, Jasmine Rice
Fries
Desserts
Curry Cone, Raspberry/Beet Gelato, Smoked Salt
Cotton Candy
Rosemary Bread Pudding

There will also be a DJ spinning on the second floor outdoor deck.

After 7pm, check out the Sixpoint Craft Ales launch at Smith Commons. Here are the beers that will be pouring on that front: Bengali Tiger IPA, Righteous Ale, The Crisp, Sweet Action

– Check out Great Lakes Brewing Company as they team up with Sova (1359 H Street NE) to pour four Great Lakes beers outside: Edmund Fitzgerald Robust Porter, Oktoberfest, Burning River Pale Ale, Elliot Ness Amber Lager

DC Brau has brewed one single batch of Atlas Festbier, a “Spezial Helles,” specifically for H Street Fest. They’ll have set up shop outside of Little Miss Whiskey’s Golden Dollar to talk up craft beer fans and have some pints of their brewery’s latest creation

Hope to see you all at H Street Fest on Saturday. It was a great time last year, and I’m really looking forward to it this year. Cheers!
