ChurchKey Hosts Thelonius Monk Institute of Jazz Benefit With North Coast

Like jazz? Love craft beer? How about a marriage between the two? ChurchKey is all about helping you out.

ChurchKey is inviting jazz- and craft beer-loving Washingtonians for a special afternoon of jazz and craft beer to benefit the Thelonius Monk Institute of Jazz on Saturday, September 10 from 2pm to 6pm.

North Coast Brewing Company, a longtime supporter of the institute, will feature a line-up of their rarer offerings. Meanwhile, a live jazz trio will accompany these beers from Fort Bragg, California.

ChurchKey will be pouring at least nine North Coast beers, including: Brother Thelonius
Le Merle
Old Rasputin
Old Stock Ale
Pranqster
Red Seal
Scrimshaw
Blue Star.
Grand Cru

The recently-released Grand Cru will also be on draft. This brand new ale is 67% ale brewed with agave nectar and is aged in oak barrels.

The event will benefit the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, a nonprofit education organization that was founded in 1986 in Washington, D.C. by the Monk family and the late Maria Fisher, an opera singer and lifelong devotee of music. Its mission is to offer the world’s most promising young musicians college-level training by internationally acclaimed jazz masters and to present public school-based jazz education programs for young people around the world.

Admission is free for this event. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Thelonius Monk Institute of Jazz.
