All you rare beer hunters in #dcbrews world, listen up! ChurchKey will be the sole establishment in Washington, DC or Virginia to serve, on draft, the latest collaboration beer from Stone Brewing Company. You can feel good about going after this one: it was brewed for a good cause! The
Baird-Ishii-Stone Japanese Green Tea IPA will be tapped tonight, Monday, August 29 beginning at 6pm.
This Green Tea IPA has been brewed to benefit Japanese tsunami relief and is a collaboration between Stone, Bryan Baird (brewmaster and founder of Numazu, Japan’s Baird Brewing) and Toshi Ishii (former Stone brewer from 1998 to 2001 and founder of Guam’s Ishii Brewing Co).
This unique libation has been both “dry-hopped” with Sencha, a variety of whole-leaf Japanese green tea, and hopped with a number of interesting hops, including American Warrior, Crystal, New Zealand Pacifica, Aramis (brand-new from the Alsace region of France) and Japanese Sorachi Ace!
Aside from the Green Tea IPA some other tasty Stone offerings will be on draft and priced by the taster or full pours. These beers include:
Stone Old Guardian Belgo-Barley Wine
Stone Cali-Belgique
Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale
Stone Ruination Ale
Arrogant Bastard Ale
Stone Pale Ale
In the mood for some hops? Head on over to ChurchKey. When you’re done sampling the Green Tea IPA, you can walk over to The Big Hunt for the DC Brau hefeweizen launch!
