Ah, the evil twin. I’ve often wished that I had one so that I could blame all of my more dastardly deeds on my identical, but insidious, counterpart. Mikkel Borg Bjergsø, gypsy brewer behind Denmark’s Mikkeller brewery has an evil twin of sorts in his brother, Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø, of Evil Twin Brewery fame. Jeppe’s beers will be featured tonight, August 23 at ChurchKey. The reviews for all of these beers seem to be pretty strong, and there are a number of styles being showcased tonight.

There is no admission for this event and all Evil Twin beers will be sold individually by the glass and in 4 oz. tasters.

The draft list includes:
Ryan and the Easter Bunny – Saison, 7%
Biscotti Break – Porter, 7.5%
Cats Piss – IPA, 6.5%
Ashtray Heart – Smoked Rye Stout, 8.9%
Soft Dookie – Imperial Stout, 10.4%
Before, During and After Christmas – Double IPA, either 8% or 10%, two RateBeer listings

Evil Twin Brewing is the brainchild of Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø, an avid beer geek since 1997, who began home-brewing in Copenhagen, Denmark in June 2003. His first foray into the commercial craft beer scene commenced in September 2005, when he opened the now world-famous bottle shop Ølbutikken in Copenhagen, where his brother first peddled his gypsy brews. The reputation of Jeppe and his shop grew quickly, and myriad side projects began (including his collaboration with Cantillon on the famed Blåbær Lambik – one of this most highly regarded, highly sought-after lambics in the world). Evil Twin Brewing is Jeppe’s latest venture, and is the culmination of the knowledge, experiences, and relationships he’s built over the years.
