The Americans with Disabilities Act, one of the most comprehensive pieces of civil rights legislation in American history, has just reached the legal drinking age. A number of people are getting together at Scion’s covered front patio tonight, Thursday, July 28 from 5-7pm to celebrate a happy hour “birthday party” of sorts.

Is this a fundraiser? No way. No donations will be accepted of any kind. This is a “have a beer and good time” event to celebrate the ADA.

But isn’t the ADA Anniversary on Tuesday, July 26? Yes, but a number of disability organizations are having huge events on Tuesday, and this is a chance to have something more relaxed that doesn’t interfere with those.

What about wheelchair accessibility? The front patio area is wide enough for most wheelchairs to navigate. An accessible restroom is located on the 21st Street entrance.
