Barrel-aged beer fans rejoice! If you’re not going to Birch & Barley’s‘s Bottle Battle tonight, Monday, July 25, there’s another draw. Gypsy brewer Mikkeller‘s entire Black Hole series will also be featured upstairs at ChurchKey.
All six beers in this series will be individually priced in both 4 oz. and full pours. Each beer is aged in a different oak barrel. Each shows very different flavor nuances as a result of the wood and the character of the previous liquid that aged in the barrel. Mikkeller is famous for a number of its beers, including the single-hop series and a yeast series that uses different yeasts on the same base beer.
