Smith Commons wants you and your dad to have a great time this Father’s Day (as an aside, Sunday is Father’s Day, so if you haven’t sent a card yet, like me, you might want to get on that pronto). In any event, Smith Commons is putting up a bunch of beer specials this Sunday for brunch. Their menu is already quite tasty, but when you add in the fact that all pints will be $5 and all 750mL bottles of beer are just $15, you’ve got quite a combo.
My personal recommendation to you is to get the Belgian waffle (upgrade to the fried chicken confit with gravy) and order yourself a 750 of Stillwater’s Cellar Door. The crispness of the saison will cut through the richness of the chicken and waffle, and the white sage will pair nicely with the savoriness of the gravy.
Or you could just have Roberto’s Bloody Mary (watch out for that chili vodka, it’s not for anyone even close to the faint of heart).
To all the dads out there, Happy Father’s Day from the DCBeer.com team!
