DC’s 3 Stars Brewing will make its DC debut during SAVOR Beer Week with “The Syndicate,” a collaboration with Delaware’s Evolution Craft Brewing Company. The beer, a saison brewed with a peppercorn melange, will be the first offering from the DC metropolitan area’s next major production brewery.
The floral, grassy, fruity and spicy aromatics engendered by the Saison yeast are further accentuated–but not overwhelmed–by the proper integration of spicy-floral Saaz hops as well as a melange of black and red peppercorns (50%) and white peppercorns (50%). What results is a refreshing, complex and alluring ale of 6.8%.
It all starts, as so many things do, at the launch on Monday at ChurchKey. DC’s premier craft beer bar will be the first to tap this special offering.
UPDATED: On Tuesday, Mike and Dave take their show over to RFD at 5:30 where they’ll do a happy hour with manager/beer director Aaron Copsey. After the happy hour, Mike and Dave will move to Scion Restaurant where another keg of the Syndicate will be tapped!
On Wednesday, there will be a meet and greet at Pizzeria Paradiso Dupont where craft beer fans can chat up 3 Stars founders Dave Coleman and Mike McCarthy.
UPDATED: On Thursday, Bourbon Adams Morgan’s Brian Kruglak plays host to the 3 Stars crew as he hosts a tasting of the Syndicate at 6pm.
The fun continues on Friday night at Meridian Pint where what is described as a “blowout” by Coleman will take place at Columbia Heights’ Meridian Pint.
But the show keeps on rolling as The Syndicate appears on both cask and draft for Saturday’s “The Evolution of a Takeover” at the Big Hunt at 5:30 on Saturday.
There’s a mountain of events next week, but be sure to stop and try DC’s newest production brewery’s first offering at some point. We’re sure you won’t be disappointed.
