As most beer hunters know (in truth there can be only one) and most oenophiles would agree, Belgian and Belgian-style beers are among the most complex and perfectly-paired ales in the world. For a real Belgian-inspired epicurean treat head to Fire Works Pizza in Arlington for their Ommegang beer dinner on Tuesday, May 24th at 7:00 P.M. Chef Frank Mayo has crafted a menu tailored for several exciting offerings from Brewery Ommegang.

Tickets are $75 (gratuity included) and this entitles you to 6 beers and 5 courses. To make a reservation via email, contact courthouse@fireworkspizza.com or call them at (703) 527-8700. This meal should be a great introduction to anyone straddling the craft beer fence. The offerings and pairings are as follows:

Greeter Beer: Witte

First Course: BPA – Mussels with BPA-Garlic Broth and Pommes Frites

Second Course: Hennepin – Caramelized Apple, Maytag Blue, Pancetta and Candied Walnut Pizza

Third Course: Rare Vos – Lobster on Corn Bread and Shitake Mushroom-Chive Cream

Fourth Course: Abbey Ale – Maple Glazed Pork Belly with Black Bean Casserole

Fifth Course/Dessert: 3 Philosophers – Cherry Bread Pudding with Port Beurre Rouge

A very special thanks to Manager Mike Berry AND Tom C. for the purloined photos.
