A bunch of great events are in the line-up tonight for you crazy craft beer fans. Saunter through them with me, why don’t you, and be sure to head out and support your local craft beer scene for American Craft Beer Week!

Smith Commons, hear the Tale of a Two Hearted City, featuring beers from Bell’s Brewery in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The ever popular Hopslam will be on draft, along with the tart Oarsman Ale, and your favorite and mine Two Hearted Ale, one of America’s best IPAs. Join Hop and Wine’s Jens Piferoen and CityStream.com to hear untold ‘tales’ about D.C. Members of CityStream’s Facebook Group ‘DCBeer Drinkers’ get access to Smith Commons’  third floor. RSVP at CityStream.com; space is limited and the beer promos abound. Sign up for the Smith Commons Beer Fan email list find out about new releases and taps FIRST. Those on the third floor will hear more about the history of Bell’s Brewery and its two most popular brews – the “Two Hearted Ale,” a Smith Commons staple, and “Hopslam,” which is only offered on rare occasions. The paired beer bite for this event is the Shrimp ‘Brain’ Stuffed with Scallops.

ChurchKey pairs up with Great Lakes tonight to bring you a mini tap takeover that includes Christmas Ale and one of the two kegs of Grand Cru that will hit DC. Also on draft will be Holy Moses White Ale, Eliot Ness Vienna Lager, Commodore Perry IPA, Dortmunder Gold Lager, Edmund Fitzgerald Porter, and Burning River Pale Ale. Beers will be priced in full pours and 4 oz. samplers, so get over there and taste some of Cleveland’s finest craft beers!

– Join Fire Works Pizza Arlington as they will be paid a visit by DC Brau CEO Brandon Skall and Brewmaster Jeff Hancock. They’ll be in house to talk, drink, and promote DC Brau. They’ll also be pouring pints of “The Public”, a nicely hopped American Pale Ale with a nutty, toasted malt backbone that only gets better as it warms. Fire Works is excited to be one of the first bars in VA to hold an event with DC Brau, and you should be excited to attend, too!

– Alexandria hosts a Craft Crawl, that starts at the Fish Market at 5:30pm. From there, stay for the Sam Adams beer dinner at 6pm or go hopping to Vermillion or O’Connells.
