If there is one thing we love here at DCBeer beyond beer it has to be tacos. Naturally, when we got wind of this event, we wanted to get you the details as soon as possible.

This Sunday, the Taco Experiment Cook-off comes to D.C. Brooklyn Brewery is bringing The Food Experiments, a highly successful series of amateur cook-offs launched in Brooklyn, on a multi-city tour that debuted in Austin and New Orleans and continues on to Washington D.C. with “The Taco Experiment.” Over twenty home chefs will create delectable taco dishes for the chance to win cash, prizes, and a round-trip ticket to New York City to compete in the Food Experiments All Stars Competition.

Brooklyn Brewery will be on hand pouring Brooklyn Lager and their IPA. Summer Ale will also be available in cans. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the local Capital Area Food Bank so come out and help support the fight against hunger.

Tell us what your favorite taco and beer combination is in the comments. The winner gets a pair of free tickets. We will select and notify a winner Friday morning so get creative and comment away.

The Taco Experiment will take place on May 15th, 2011 at the Rock n Roll Hotel 1353 H St NE 12pm – 4pm. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door and include tasting samples and beer from Brooklyn Brewery.
