Good news for local beer fans: the very first batch of Lost Rhino Brewing Company’s beer is fermenting as you read.
Technically it’s the second batch as the dynamic duo of Matt Hagerman and Favio Garcia brewed a batch of root beer several weeks ago.
This batch was their Pacific Pilsner which was hopped using US Saaz and Hallertau hops. Garcia and Hagerman also incorporated local hops from Virginia’s Sage Hill Farm.
When finished, wort was taken in order to propagate ale yeast which will help ferment their New River Pale Ale sometime next week.
Stay tuned for more updates and be sure to follow Favio @LostBrewer and Matt @rhinobrew on twitter.
