Knight of the of the Brewers’ Mash Staff Thor will guide you through six beers, and you’ll leave a lot wiser as to why Belgium and Beer are a match made in heaven (well… abbeys).

The Washington Wine Academy has partnered with Thor Cheston, of Brasserie Beck and Mussel Bar, to offer a new series of beer classes for the Washington, DC market.  On April 18th, the first of several sessions will be focused on the history, styles, and influences of Belgian Family Breweries and Abbey Brewing traditions, two formative groups of breweries in Belgian tradition. At $70 dollars, this is a fairly good deal. Thor has accumulated an awesome selection of Belgian beers, so I can only imagine what will be served. If you have ever wanted to expand on your Belgian beer prowess, this is a great opportunity to learn from one of the best.
