All told, this event was a phenomenal success and went far beyond what we ever dreamed that it would. Originally when we were planning for this event, we thought we might be able to get about 20 teams signed up. Well, that estimate got blown out of the water as we ended up signing up 62 teams. This was a lot of work, but it was ultimately very rewarding, and we are already looking eagerly toward next year’s District Beer Hunt.

Oof, well, admittedly I am just recovering from the inaugural District Beer Hunt, which took place last weekend and was sponsored by the J Street Beer Review, DCBeer, and Flying Dog.

A huge thank you to all of the following is beyond due: all of the participants, all of the volunteers, JT Smith and Tom Hunter from Flying Dog, Renee Rubin of GoFivo, all of the participating bars (The Big Hunt, The Black Squirrel, Bourbon-Adams Morgan, Iron Horse Taproom, Justin’s Cafe, Meridian Pint, The Reef, RFD, Scion, Smith Commons).

If you’d like a more formal recap, please let me direct you to our friends at The Pint Glass, who wrote a perhaps too glowing review of our little project. (Thanks guys, the check is in the mail!)
