It’s nice when DC’s myriad beer bars contact us here at DCBeer to check in, say hi, and tell us what they’re up to and what they’re pouring. Why? Well, for a couple of reasons. First, it’s great to hear from them. Second, we know you all like to get the latest news and views from the craft beer world. That’s why it was especially nice when Bourbon-Adams Morgan’s Brian Kruglak dropped us a line recently to give us a whole bunch of tasty tidbits that I’m happily passing on to you.
First, some new drafts at Bourbon include: Allagash Big Little Beer, Jolly Pumpkin Madrugada Obscura, Bruery Saison De Lente, Rogue Morimoto Imperial Pilsner.
Second, Bourbon has hopped on the 4 oz. tasting train and is offering up four, 4 oz. flights of craft beer (patron’s choice), of any of the drafts they offer. This is a model that has worked well at a number of bars, most notably in DC ChurchKey, so it’s great to see other bars take up this practice. It allows for low-risk sampling and for people to push their comfort zones with beer.
Now for some events!
On Wednesday, March 16, Bourbon will have its first of many counter top cask tappings. The inaugural cask will be Heavy Seas Loose Cannon IPA dyed green for St. Patrick’s Day.
The very next day, March 17, Bourbon will tap the last available keg of Great Lakes Conway’s Irish Ale in DC.
So get on over to Bourbon for these events or to have a flight of beers. They’ve got some tasty offerings right now that you shouldn’t miss out on!
