For some folks, it can be tough to get into craft beer. The craft beer world is constantly expanding and it can be intimidating to know where to start out. Do you feel that way? Do you have friends who feel that way and you’ve been looking for an opening to introduce them to a variety of great beers?
Boy is there a great event, put on by some AU alumni, for you tomorrow night, February 23. For just $20, you can try five different beers from mostly mid-Atlantic breweries, including two from the recently opened Port City Brewing Co. in Alexandria, Virginia. These beers run the gamut of styles from Pilsners to Porters and styles in between. I’ll be on-hand to talk with attendees about what they’re drinking and answer other questions about beer too, including production, homebrewing, beer in DC, etc.
This will be a great introduction to trying craft beer for those who are unfamiliar with it, but experienced craft beer fans will find a lot to like in this menu as well.

Great Lakes Brewing Co. (okay, so Cleveland isn’t mid-Atlantic. I did say mostly.) – Dortmunder Gold
Port City Brewing Co. – Optimal Wit
Williamsburg Alewerks – Draketail India Pale Ale
Port City Brewing Co. – Porter
$20 cash only at the door. Doors at 6pm, and beers at 6:30.
