DC Brau, the District’s first production brewery since 1956 took another step toward getting its beer onto shelves and into tap lines when it announced on Tuesday that it had reached a distribution deal with Hop & Wine Beverage. DC Brau’s beers will join an already impressive portfolio.
“DC Brau is proud to be aligned with Hop & Wine Beverage in Washington, DC,” said DC Brau co-founder Brandon Skall in a press release. “We have watched [Hop & Wine] grow over the years, and we can’t wait to be a part of that growth going forward.”
Martin Wetten, Founder and CEO of Hop & Wine, said in the same release, “We are delighted and excited to have a DC brewery once again. Ultimately, it is Hop & Wine’s honor to be representing DC Brau in this new stage in the city’s history.
The deal will put DC Brau on schedule to distribute beer in the first quarter of 2011. At launch, the brewery will have three flagships beers: Public Ale (a pale ale), Corruption Ale (an IPA), and the Citizen (Belgian-style ale). They will also release a seasonal beer in summer 2011.
