The Northern Virginia craft beer scene keeps getting better and better. The October 20th opening in Old Town of Pizzeria Paridiso, its third location in the DC area, is NOVA’s next addition, and should improve the heart of Old Town’s growing number of craft beer-focused bars.
Near the Waterfront and Fish Market at King Street and Lee, the Old Town “Pizza P” will serve up the same divine combo of brick-oven pizzas and the ridiculous selection of craft brews that made the other two locations so popular. For those who don’t frequent either of the Georgetown or Dupont Circle locations, Pizza P’s happy hours are popular (as in Zack Morris hanging out with Screech at the Max post-Bayside High popular). The Pizza P beer menu is well-organized with revolving bottle and draft selections (15-20 taps and one cask). Their cellars have a few more imports than U.S. brews, and its knowledgeable wait staff is always engaging.
Greg Jasgur, Old Town Pizza P’s bar manager, plans to reproduce the winning elements of the DC locations in order to rapidly build the Old Town location’s beer selection to the same standard. Happy hours – with $10 pizzas and ½ off drafts – will start on every Monday and Tuesday.
Check out the draft list for opening night!
