As you may or may not have seen from Twitter last night, there was a bit of a communication mix-up between your beloved bloggers here at DCBeer.com and everyone’s favorite Glover Park hangout, Breadsoda. It turns out, they weren’t expecting Opposite Day to be until Thursday. Still, the Mikes and I were on hand with a case of homebrew, and we had a bunch of attendees turn out with their own homebrewed concoctions. There was shuffleboard playing, much discussion about homebrewing, and of course some tasting of the delightful beers on draft at Breadsoda. This was a great precursor to what will be an excellent Opposite Day on Thursday night!

That’s right folks, the DCBeer.com folks will be right back at Breadsoda on Thursday ready to experience some excellent beers and their “opposites.” What beers will these be, you ask? Well we had a sneak preview, and here are just some of the beers that will be included in the “opposite” pairings: Dominion Oktoberfest, Stone Smoked Porter,
Great Divide Titan IPA, Dogfish Head Raisin d’Etre, Dogfish Head India Brown Ale, Oskar Blues Old Chub, North Coast, Old Rasputin, Cottrell Old Yankee Ale. Excellent list, and I am so excited for the pairings!

I want to apologize to anyone who came anticipating Opposite Day; this was just a simple miscommunication, and we’re really sorry! On the flip side, we want to thank all the folks who came out, chatted it up (this was a tweetup after all!), enjoyed some beer, and swapped homebrew! This was an excellent way to start off DC Beer Week!

We can’t wait to see you at the Big Hunt on Wednesday for “A Bitch and a Bastard” and then right back at Breadsoda on Thursday for Opposite Day!
