The Big Hunt is holding their First Annual Kentucky Derby Warm-Up Party on Wednesday April 28th from 8:00 p.m. to midnight.
The event starts with your choice of two (from a menu of five) bourbon cocktails; including a Perfect Woodford Reserve Manhattan, a Bulliet Mint Julep, and an Elijah Craig Kentucky Punch. If cocktails aren’t your things, just ask for your bourbons straight up.
The Big Hunt’s bar manager, Dave Coleman, will take the helm “smoking a copious quantity of pork for pulled pork sandwiches, some spankin’ bacony collards, cheesy grits, and bacon & bourbon cornbread.” Attendees will wash it all down with five (6 to 8 oz) goblets of Great Lakes Brewing Co.’s Lake Erie Monster (Double IPA), and their Holy Moses Witbier, Allagash Confluence, and something from Tröegs Brewing (TBD.) For dessert, there will be Derby Pie paired with Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout.
Tickets are $50, go on sale Thursday, April 15, and will be available Monday-Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the bar. The seating is limited to 50, so get them before they are gone. Dave Coleman sez: “show up in your Derby finest, floppy hats and vested suits, and lets get ready for some Derby Madness.”
