On Monday, March 1 The Big Hunt will be pouring a very limited amount of Great Lakes Brewing Company’s spring seasonal; Holy Moses.
Holy Moses White Ale is a Belgian-style Wit named for Moses Cleaveland, a Connecticut native who founded Cleveland in 1796. According to the Great Lakes website, this seasonal brew is only available April – July, but the Big Hunt seems to have some sort of beer-mojo (or blackmail photos) and was able to get a 1/6 (5.16 gallon) keg.
I spoke to Dave Coleman, Bar Manager at The Big Hunt, and he said that the keg is being sent over as a “thank you” in appreciation for The Big Hunt being Great Lakes Brewing Company’s biggest DC account. Coleman is excited for this preview showing, but prefers to think of it as a tease, or as he put it, “a peep show.”
The bar will open at 4:00pm as usual on Monday, March 1 and they will start pouring the Holy Moses at 5:00pm. In addition, all Great Lakes beers will $5 all night. A representative from Great Lakes will be there to hand out goodies and talk about their beers and their brewery.
So come on out and honor Moses Cleaveland… “he’s the guy who invented Cleveland.”
