Scion Restaurant in Dupont Circle is announcing some major changes to their beer lineup and is kicking it off with one of the most sought after beers of 2009.
When Scion opened in June of 2009 much thought was given to the beer they would serve as was done with every item on their menu. Bar manager Tim Liu decided on five craft beers and one mass-market beer for their six taps. Liu soon discovered that his clientele was more interested in the craft offerings than the mass produced lager they could get anywhere else. Customers continued to give feedback and the draft and bottle offerings have continued to evolve. Currently Scion has draft beer from Fordham, Old Dominion, Widmer Brothers, Starr Hill, and Hoegaarden.
Scion will celebrate their six month anniversary on Sunday, January 10 with all new draft and bottle offerings and a limited tapping of Life & Limb; the Sierra Neveda/Dogfish Head collaboration. From 5:00 – 8:00pm you can try a Life & Limb + Food Pairing (6oz glass, one savory pairing, and one sweet pairing) for $12. After 8:00pm, whatever Life & Limb remains will be sold by the glass. Brewery representatives from both Dogfish Head and Sierra Nevada will be on hand to discuss the brew.
The new & improved draft and bottles are as follows:
DRAFT:
Old Dominion – Baltic Porter
Tröegs – Dream Weaver Wheat
Sierra Nevada – Pale Ale
North Coast – Scrimshaw Pilsner
Dogfish Head – Raison D’etre
