Chevy Chase Wine and Spirits Belgian Christmas Ale Tasting Friday

‘Tis the season as they say. Tomorrow night at Chevy Chase Wine and Spirits, the venerable beer mecca that is sadly not close enough to a metro is host a beer tasting.

To get everyone in the holiday spirit, patrons will get to sample Belgian Christmas Ales. The line-up includes Dupont Avec les bons Voeux, Corsendonk, Scaldis and St Bernardus.

The Dupont Avec les bons Voeux (or Bons Voeux for short) has been brewed by Dupont since 1970 as a Christmas present to their best clients. Over the years they released it to their customers. The name is French for: “With the best wishes of the brewery Dupont.” The beer is coppery blond and has both hop bitterness as well as fruitiness. It’s a farmhouse ale. It’s 9.5% ABV.

Chevy Chase Wine and Spirits is at 5544 Connecticut Avenue N.W. There is a bus from Woodley Park that should take you all the way up there. The tasting is from 4-7 PM on Friday.
