The Black Squirrel is taking an alternative style to celebrating the holidays–with Christmas being a somewhat cornered market, they are going all out on Hanukkah. Chef Gene Sohn will be serving up beer brined brisket and potato latkes, and they got their hands on new massive He’Brew beer.
Jewbelation 13 Bar Mitzvah is a big beer coming in at 13% ABV. The main theme as you might have guessed is the number 13. The beer hosts 13 malts: Specialty 2-row, Canada Munich, CaraMunich 40,Chocolate, Crystal Rye, Dark Crystal, Flaked Spelt, Flaked Oats, Kiln Amber, Pilsner, Rye Ale, Vienna and Wheat. It also blasts your tastebuds with 13 hops: Ahtanum, Amarillo, Apollo, Cascade, Centennial, Columbus, Crystal, Fuggle, Golding, Palisade, Simcoe, Tettnang and Willamette. The beer is brewed under the He’Brew brand which is part of the Schmaltz Brewing company.
