Ever think to pair Duvel with Southern Fried Frogs Legs? Me neither, but now you can. Granville Moore’s is continuing its monthly beer dinner series with increasing flair. Pairing great Belgian beer with some unusual entrees seems to be the name of the game.
December’s dinner showcases a number of courses like the aforementioned Frogs Legs with a Feta Dip served alongside a glass of the Duvel Green. Lobster Creme Brulee will be served Maredsous 10, Topneck clams and caramelized fennel will pair with Ommegang Hennepin and Ostrich (OSTRICH!) filet with braised brussel sprouts and a sour cherry sauce will go with the cherry flavored Ommegang Three Philosophers. Desert will be fig pudding and Ommegang Abbey ale.
Additional surprises are promised, but I can’t tell you what those might be. Basically if you want to know how Ostrich pairs with Three Philosophers, this is probably the only dinner you will get the chance to find that out. $70 gets you a seat at the table. The dinner is Wednesday, December 2 at 7PM. Dr. Granville Moore’s is located at 1238 H Street, NE in the H Street corridor.
