The importers and distributors who bring you Chimay Belgian bee rare showcasing a Chimay product you may never have seen before. That’s right Chimay makes more than just the Red, White and Blue bottled beers, they also delve into bacterial fermentation and controlled rot. No not in a beer, they make cheese!
Tonight at Marvin (located at 14th and U st) will host James Williams from Manneken Brussel Imports and Jeff Wells of Dops Distributors as they share with you some of these Trappist cheeses. Vieux Chimay and Chimay a la Biere are the two cheese Jeff listed and they will be free while supplies last.
On top of the cheeses there will two of those giant champagne bottles of 2008 Vintage Chimay Grande Reserve–the blue bottle Dubbel–brewed apparently in 2007. Beer lovers who purchase a glass of Chimay will also get to steal the glass.
The event will be at Marvin’s Upstairs Patio located at 2007 14th St NW. The event starts at 5:30. Get there early if you want there to be any cheese or beer left.
