A half hour outside the city, during rush hour? Sure you can make it! Take a half day from work today. Sam Calagione from Dogfish Head is gonna be in Fairfax/Chantilly tonight!

First off, there are couple things going on. One, Sam is making a pit-stop at Total Wine in Chantilly to sign bottles and talk a bit through a beer tasting there. Tastings of 60 Minute, Sah’tea, Black and Blue, Palo Santo Maron, 120 Minute, Punkin Ale, Raison d’etre will be available. It’s at 13055-C Lee Jackson Highway, Chantilly, VA. This think is only from 5PM to 6PM from what I understand. And there is a reason…

The Grand Opening of the Chantilly (Fairfax) Dogfish Head Ale House! They are having a special beer dinner with Sam on hand. It’s $60 a seat and last I heard it wasn’t sold out yet but it probably should be. The dinner is 6-8PM and they’ve got quite a lineup. The start off strong pairing a butternut squash soup with the 120 Minute! From there they’ve got a salad with berries paired with Black and Blue, Filet Mignon with Raison d’Etre, and finish it off with Punkin’ Ale and Pumpkin Creme Brulee.

On tap at the Fairfax location are some rarities like the 75 Minute, Pangea, Chicory Stout, and Black ‘N Tan. Call 703-961-1140 for reservations. The new ale house is located at 13041 Lee Jackson Highway in Chantilly, VA.

So if you can’t plunk down for the beer dinner or if it’s sold out, you can still see Sam at Total Wine and drink a few Dogfish Head beers. Bring a designated driver!
