Fresh off the return trip from being knighted in Belgium, Thor Cheston must have been smuggling some bottles on his way back. Why? Because it looks like the brewer from La Chouffe has chased him home to get them back. Tonight at Brasserie Beck down on K Street will be hosting Belgian brewer and founder of La Chouffe Chris Bauweaerts.
They will be serving $6 glasses of La Chouffe (not sure if they mean just the La Chouffe or La Chouffe beers) and Bauweaerts will be there to chat with people and answer their question on how great it must be to be a Belgian brewer. La Chouffe is a Belgian blonde spiced with coriander that’s been refermented in the bottle. The beer is 8% ABV. If they pour any McChouffe, I recommend it. It’s referred to as a Scotch of Ardennes–a Belgian-Scotch Ale–dark in color with fruity spice flavors.
Tasting will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 PM, Tonight (Monday)!
