In a last minute email this morning Pizzeria Paradiso announced a happy hour event tonight! Tonight only they will be having Susanne Hecht, ambassador for the Schneider & Sohn beer brand, on hand while they pour five of their beers. The flagship Weisse, Edelweisse and Hopfenweisse will all be on draft. They will also have Aventinus and Aventinus Eisbock in bottles.
The neat thing about this German brewery is that they specialize in Weise (wheat) beers. Their flagship beer, the Schneider Weise, is the jumping off point for all their others. The original starts with the yeast in the bottle while their Krystall version serves a lighter weise beer with the yeast filtered out. Even the dark Aventinus is a wheat base dopplebock.
Although still not Oktoberfest season yet (or at least it shouldn’t be), the visit of this brewery makes for a great intro the world of German beers ahead of time. In addition to the beer happy hour, there will also be a featured Aventinus Pizza Special available tonight and all week long. Stop in between 5:00PM to 7:00PM to take enjoy to one night only event.
