SAVOR 2020: American Craft Beer & Food Experience
May 15 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm$139
SAVOR™: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience returns to Washington, D.C., on May 15 for its 13th year, at The Anthem. Presented by the Brewers Association, SAVOR 2020 pairs flavor-forward, independent craft beer with sublime small bites to create an unforgettable culinary experience for beer lovers and foodies alike.
SAVOR 2020 moves to The Anthem, D.C.’s new $60 million waterfront venue, which allows for a 30 percent increase in breweries. The event will highlight a diverse array of 118 small and independent craft breweries from across the country, whose beers will be paired with a lineup of food thoughtfully designed for each of the more than 200 beers served. Such intricate menu items in the past have featured 3 Sons Brewing Company’s Pick Your Own Belgian Style Fruit Ale, paired with corn madeleine and chicken liver mousse.
SAVOR guests will also have the unique opportunity to sip, savor, and interact with many of the brewery owners, a dynamic lineup of acclaimed personalities behind the beers.
118 small and independent craft breweries – ranging in production size from less than 1,000 barrels to over 1,000,000 barrels – will participate in SAVOR. Of those 118 breweries, 49 are first-time participants and 73 of are coming from regions outside the mid-Atlantic.
DC’s 3 Stars, Atlas, Bluejacket, DC Brau, and Right Proper will be representing. Maryland’s delegation includes Denizens, Elder Pine, Heavy Seas, Manor Hill, Silver Branch, True Respite, and Union. We don’t see Brunswick’s Smoketown Brewing Station in distribution, but there’s a MARC station right there, which is local enough. Virginia will have 2 Silos, Adroit Theory, Board Room, Caboose, Dynasty, Lake Anne Brew House, Old Bust Head, and Wheatland Spring. Port City is a supporting brewery, thus will be at SAVOR as well.
Chef Adam Dulye, the Brewers Association executive chef and author of The Beer Pantry, will lead a talented, award-winning culinary team of chefs, Cicerones®, and purveyors to create a menu of more than 200 food pairings.
