DC Brau, the District’s first of the current wave of breweries, turned 12 last weekend, and like a lot of tweens, they’re trying on a new identity. Starting this May, the Brau cans you know and love will look a little different.

But wait, there’s more!

More details, from a press release:

The new packaging look sets to reimagine the brewery’s brand identity, with a bold and contemporary focus that evokes simplicity and clarity. The colors remain consistent with the previous flavor profiles of each beer. “DC Brau has always been committed to brewing the highest quality craft beer, and we wanted our packaging to reflect that same level of quality and craftsmanship,’’ says Brandon Skall, CEO of DC Brau.

“We’re thrilled to be celebrating our 12 year anniversary and to be launching our new package refresh at the same time. Our customers have been with us every step of the way, and we wanted to create a package that reflects the evolution of our brand while still maintaining the look and feel that makes them feel at home with a Brau.”

The new packaging will find a home on all the brand’s beers, including flagship brands such as The Public, Brau Pils and The Corruption, as well as the company’s variety packs.

“We wanted to create a package that would stand out on the shelf and capture the attention of our customers,” says Steve Carnes, Director of Operations at DC Brau Brewing.

Alright, so go out there and buy some cans of Brau; they’re about to be collector’s items!

In other Brau news, Great American Beer Fest award winner The Citizen Belgian-style pale ale is available now, and look for cans of Keller Pils and a new Gose next month along with the refresh.
