Far from “Minnesota Nice,” the Gopher State’s own Surly Brewing Company is bringing its bad attitude to DC on Monday, March 12th.  Starting at 4 pm, Churchkey will be pouring 10 of the brewery’s best, in both full glasses and 4 oz. tasting pours.  Oh, and Surly founder Omar Ansari will be there to help out and shoot the breeze.  Worried everything will run out? It will, but maybe not as quickly as you think. All of the beers on the list, even Surly Darkness 2011, will be in 1/2 bbl kegs rather than sixtels. Check out this gonzo list:

On DRAFT:
Darkness 2011 (Russian imperial stout)
Five (5th anniversary, 100% bret-fermented dark ale matured in red wine barrels)
Smoke (a smoked Baltic porter matured in oak barrels)
Mild (4% abv session)
Abrasive (double oat India pale ale)
Furious (IPA)
Cynic-Ale (Saison)
Coffee Bender (oatmeal brown w/ coffee)

On CASK:
Bender (oatmeal brown), “tea-bagged” with Willamette hops in the firkin
Furious (IPA), “tea-bagged” with Centennial hops in the firkin

Whoa. Yep. That’s it. Whoa.
