5th Annual Rustico Oktobeerfest – The Beer List!

“Ohh damn…what…?” That was my initial reaction upon seeing this year’s lineup for the 5th Annual Rustico Oktobeerfest next Saturday, the 15th. This event has been stellar year after year so I don’t know why I was surprised in the slightest. One of the things I really like about this event is the focus on German beer culture as a whole. Neighborhood Restaurant Group Beer Director, Greg Engert has managed to procure beers that wouldn’t be found at any one biergarten throughout Bavaria, let alone the US. It’s a great reminder that there is a German beer culture that exists outside Munich and its iconic Marzen style.

This year’s event will feature 44 drafts and 6 casks including 5 local Oktoberfests.  Take a look at the full lists here, and make plans now to attend on Saturday, October 15 from Noon to 5 p.m. Rustico located at 827 Slaters Lane in Alexandria. All ages welcome and admission is free. Tickets on sale at the gate for beer, food, activities and other amusements.

Note: Parking can be difficult on this day, and all attendees are strongly encouraged to use mass transit. In fact, each and every guest who takes a cell phone photo of him/herself at the nearby Braddock Road Metro Stationwill receive either a complimentary Oktobeerfest Mug or five free tickets to be used toward food at the event.
