Finally! They are going make a killing – the number of homebrewers within three blocks of my house in Columbia Heights is astounding, let alone an entire city’s worth of pent-up/potential demand.

Hopefully the money I save in gas makes up for the presumably slightly higher prices (due to the higher costs of operating within DC)… either way it will be infinitely more convenient.

And +1 for the mill-your-own (amounts of) grain option.

This is awesome news! I’d definitely love to save the drive up to Columbia to go to Maryland Homebrew. Any idea if they’ll have the option to measure out your own grain in specific amounts (like MD Homebrew)?

Thanks Bill for the heads up. I have yet to make it to Scion but I have heard great things about the place. I snagged tickets to the Brewers’ Reserve Session just now! I couldn’t get SAVOR tickets this year but this event seems AWESOME…esp. at the price!

Really, really glad to see Tim and Scion getting some well-deserved love. He regularly stocks beers from my beloved North Carolina that you can’t otherwise get around here.

My only complaint is that it will likely make it harder to get a spot up next to the bar.
