Sure Savor sold out in 10 minutes, but luckily the local establishments are going to make sure you have a good time anyway. One of the first events to be announced for this DC Beer Week of sorts is RFD’s Toast to Savor. (Don’t confuse the week of Savor with this weeks American Craft Beer Week, similar celebrations but this week’s events are a more national thing where as the week of June 3rd is a DC party everyone else gets to be jealous of.)
The event will take place in the backroom of RFD and a ticket gives you the chance to sample some of the great beers that will be featured at SAVOR. Ten different breweries–Dogfish, Sam Adams, Ommegang, Sierra Nevada, Saranac, Harpoon, Heavy Seas, Anchor Steam, Magic Hat, Flying Dog, Southampton, Stoudts, Peak Organic, Hook & Ladder, Cisco, and Otter Creek–will have beers on draft and there will be bottled stuff as well. An interesting thing to note is this particular tasting promises UNLIMITED sampling of extremely limited release offerings. I am guess that is until one of us chugs the last remaining kegs of CBS while Poppa Dave tries pull us off of it. (No guarantee there will be any CBS at this event, just using it as an example.)
Special guests from each brewery will be there to meet and greet and I am guessing from the fact that this is RFD there will be some big shots at this one.
Tickets are $30 bucks and the event June 3rd from 6:30-10 pm.
For more ticket information please call RFD 202-289-2030 or visit the website www.lovethebeer.com RFD is located at 810 7th street NW. Washington, DC

I hear rumors from the bartenders at RFD that some of the brewery owners will be at the event. Namely Hugh Sisson of Heavy Seas and Grossmans from Sierra. Any idea if this is true?
Ben,
While I normally don’t condone rumors, my fiance did receive an email from Hugh that he would be there. So, while he is a very busy and heavily-scheduled man, he will likely be there. In the meantime, feel free to call/email him yourself:
