At least we are pretty sure. You see we haven’t heard any other details about the Strong Ale Tasting. We know that it is happening at the Brickskeller and that ‘multiple’ brewmasters will be there serving up Winter Strong Ale. What are the beers? Who are the brewers? Who knows…you will have to pay $35 and show up to find out. Luckily for most of us, we can wait and see what happens for the brave souls who venture out tonight and make our decision about the second night based on reviews of the first.
The tastings are being held tonight Feb. 2 and Tues. Feb 9. The event starts around 7PM.
The Brickskeller is located at 1523 22nd St NW.

I just peeked my head into The Brickskeller on my way home and got the list of beers they are serving for tonight’s Strong Ale Tasting Extravaganzee. The tasting started at 7:00pm, but will probably go on until 9:00pm, so if you are willing to brave the snow, you will be in for a treat. Tickets are $35 at the door and the pours range from 4oz – 6oz.

If and when someone can snag next week’s list, please do so!
As we await our local brewers to get back to either bob tupper or dave alexander. I can promise that for your $35, you will try some of the best strong ales our local brewers create each year. The usual suspects include brewers from district chophouse, clipper city, vintage 50, dogfish head (when sam isn’t too big of a celebrity for us these days), the rock bottom locations, both captial city brewmasters, and this year the outerbanks brewing guys if they can fight the snow to reach us, among the other great local brewers that grace us with their gems each year. Yes it is a “mystery tasting” but you will not be regret the choice to attend… 10 beers over 7% for $35 and they all hit your taste buds in the right spot… surprise is not always a bad thing… trust us. Our tastings have been happing before you even knew good beer was available. Don’t miss our “mystery beer”. The brickskeller vault is prepared to offer you the best aged beer you can find in the city. For the price of our tasting tickets you will regret it!!! You never know what Dave will offer you that nobody in the city can. So come by, drink good beer.
