This Saturday is one of the most local beer fests around. You can even get there by taking a metro bus! The DCBeer team will be getting there a little early as we have heard the scene gets a out of control by the late afternoon. Doors open at noon and go till 7PM. Tickets are $25 at the door and you get 10 drink samples for admission. Food and entertainment will also be available for when you are not trying beers.
Breweries participating in the event include: Capitol City Brewing Co, (of course), District Chop House, Oskar Blues, Troegs, Sam Adams, Woodchuck Cider, Dogfish Head, Clipper City, Gordon Biersch, Fullers, Devils Backbone, Hook and Ladder, Fordham, Duck Rabbit, Flying Dog, Southern Tier, Rogue, Vintage 50, Mad Fox, Williamsburg Aleworks, Lagunitas, Founders, New Holland, Avery, Stone, Holy Brew, Rogue, Rock Bottom Brewery, Penn Brewing, 21 Amendment, Speakeasy, Victory, Abita, Allagash, Stoudt’s. Brooklyn, Lancaster, Ottercreek, Wolaver’s, Lucifer, and Starr Hill.
I’m particularly interested in trying some of the medal winning beers from relative new comer and Virginia-based brewery Devils Backbone. Should be a fun day!
The event takes place this Saturday, Oct. 3 from 12PM-7PM. It’s open to the public but you must buy tickets to drink the beers. The event is at the Shirlington shopping plaza outside the Capitol City Brewing Company.
