Capitol City Brewing Company Oktoberfest
Date: Saturday, October 3rd
Head on over to the Shirlington Village location of Capitol City Brewing Company and join the 7000-plus party goers celebrating local and German beers. 30+ breweries in addition to Cap City will be pouring 4 oz samples of beer for anyone whose bought a wristband for the event. Tickets are sold the day of at $25 a pop for beer tasting while the rest of the event is free to the public. In addition to beer, there will be a German band and Oktoberfest themed food. Rustico Oktoberfest
Date: Saturday, October 10th
Rustico is taking over their parking lot and filling it with delicious beer, food, and a moon bounce. On top of that they are raffling off a Harley Davidson. Admission is free to come by and enjoy the atmosphere and music, but tickets will be sold for food and beer. 1 ticket will cost $1 and beer will go for 5-10 tickets depending on the style. They plan on have 25 beers but here is the partial list so far… Southern Tier PumKing Ale, Climax Oktoberfest, Schlenkerla’s Urbock Unfiltered, Sierra Nevada Yakima Harvest Ale, Heavy Seas Prosit Imperial Pumpkin in a traditional cask, Avery’s The Kaiser, Wolaver’s Will Stevens’ Organic Pumpkin Ale. One other pretty funny thing about this event – take a photo of yourself outside the Braddock Road Metro and show it to the staff and they will give you a free Oktoberfest mug or 5 tickets for food!
