One final note, although we saw a bunch of great Hunter S. Thompson look-a-likes running around, we seemed to miss the contest. Sorry we don’t have any pics of that! Once you got past the crazy lines transporting the some 2000 people to the various kegs, food or well nowhere–without a doubt for $20 going to a good charity the Flying Dog Brewery showed local beer lovers a great time. Getting to talk with the brewers, drink rare beers that probably aren’t even available today, eat some delicious chili nachos, as well as just get to check out one of our scene’s local beer producers made the trip all the worthwhile. So inspired were we that we went back to DC, got the Hunter S. Thompson ‘Gonzo’ documentary on Netflix, and had a few beers and cigars to finish the day. (Most pictures by Mehan Jayasuriya)
