Once we had our mugs refilled with the elusive Flying Dog Tripel and the Nitro Gonzo Imperial Porter, we settled in to watch the awesome scene. It was like a crazy party where great beer flowed unchecked and would never run dry. Jolly dudes with an inexhaustible catalog of dirty drinking songs raised their mugs high and belted out tunes in the gruffest singing voices they could muster. The Tripel went down nice and smooth, with a little more sweetness than some other tripels. Solid, drinkable, and awesomely everyone in the room had a chance at unlimited refills. The smoothness of the nitrogen bubbles was overpowered by the thickness and strength of the Gonzo Imperial Porter. The beer is just a beast, but Mehan seemed to enjoy it nontheless. As serious beer bloggers we were there to sip and enjoy our beers anyway, we weren’t in a rush.
