Here’s something a little different. Take the metro to Ballston and head over to Melting Pot on Glebe Road. Sure it doesn’t sound like the latest beer destination, but they’ll be serving Magic Hat in bulk Thursday night. They are calling it Pairing of the Pours.
The Magic Hat Beer Dinner will include a four-course fondue meal paired with Magic Hat beers. Fondue is something I haven’t experimented with pairing with beer, but anyone whose paired anything knows, cheese goes really well with beer. From the menu, they will have a Lucky Cat based fondue paired with Lucky Cat as well as a Circus Boy prepared shrimp dish. The end of the night will see a pairing of Hi.P.A. with Dark Chocolate and Grand Marnier fondue. This might be quite an experience.
The beer list will include Lucky Cat, Magic Hat #9, Circus Boy, Wacko and Hi.P.A. Call for a reservation, it’s $55 a person. Thursday, August 13th.
